Chelsea star Tiemoue Bakayoko has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for German club Borussia Dortmund and they are ready to tempt the Blues with mega deal. The 23-year-old France international joined Chelsea this season, but he has battled for form and fitness this term under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge. There have been reports that Chelsea are planning to allow him to leave the club this summer, and Borussia Dortmund are now monitoring the situation.
Borussia Dortmund chiefs are ready to tempt the Blues with €40m this summer for the possibility of luring Tiemoue Bakayako to Germany. The two clubs already enjoy a positive relationship courtesy of Michy Batshuayi’s successful loan stint in Dortmund this year. After suffering a broken leg as a young player, Bakayoko joined the academy at Rennes at the age of 13, but when he was 14, he was turned down by the Clairfontaine academy. His senior career began at Rennes where he made 24 appearances before moving to Monaco in 2014 for £7 million.
In his first two seasons at the club, Bakayoko made 31 Ligue 1 appearances, but was a regular starter in the 2016–17 season, contributing to Monaco’s title win as well as being named in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League squad of the season. He joined the Blues in 2017, and made his Chelsea debut in a 2–1 away win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on August 20, 2017.
